Baja Mexico November 2013
|
|
In the morning, we took in our last Baja sunrise, packed the rest of the gear and got ready to head back to the states. Gordon was a great host allowing us to invade his peaceful cabin for the week. He is a wealth of knowledge and was a joy to be with. He is a remarkable man. We took a few more pics of the area before we left paradise. Back on Mex5 to San Felipe, we saw a lot more race traffic with a few trohpy trucks and buggies flying down the street. A stop for gas and lunch and then off to Mexicali to cross the border. We had lunch at a roadside restaurant just outside of Mexicali. I had fish tacos again, but the ceviche was by far the best meal there. Alex and Angie decided to stay in Mexico a bit longer and took Mex2 across to Tecate and hit the border. Dan and I sat in the line of cars for almost 2 hours at the border and thankfully avoided a secondary inspection. We had hoped to buy some tequila and trinkets at the border, but at the Mexicali East border, we saw no stores. Once back on USA soil, we sped home arriving in the Sacramento area around 2 am. It was an incredible adventure and we will definitely be heading back to Baja as soon as we can. Viva Baja!
