Moab 2015 - page 1

Moab is an incredible place to visit, and one of my favorite parts of the country. It is magnificent to explore via offroading, biking, hiking or simply driving through enjoying the scenery. The shear vastness of the area is breathtaking and thankfully has been largely preserved with immense national parks, such as Arches and Canyonlands. I was invited along this trip with my buddy Eric and had an incredible time. We charged to Moab from Rocklin on Tuesday morning leaving the Out of Bounds brewery after filling up growlers and loading up lots of good beer. We arrived late Tuesday night after charging across highway 50 thankfully seeing very little traffic. A few IPAs hit the spot while we camped at Sand Flats near the entrance to the famous Slickrock mountain biking trail and met up with Ben from Colorado, Mike from Ohio and Aaron from Raleigh.

The next morning, we packed camp early headed for Canyonlands and the famous White Rim Trail. We drove Potash road and climbed up the Shafer canyon switchbacks to obtain our passes. Ben secured Murphy Hogback campground A a few months back after a cancellation. Ben, an avid mountain biker, decided the quickest way back down was on a bike and he went flying down the switchbacks. He biked a few more miles before stoppig for lunch at a spectacular lookout over the Colorado river.
