Baja Mexico November 2013
By Thursday morning, the winds had died down, but the Sea of Cortez still had some big waves crashing on shore. We took a ride in the desert out to an old marble quarry and hiked around a bit. Gordon showed us a cool cave by a natural spring near the quarry. We rode the FatCats and the ATVs all over the desert enjoying the landscape and the views. When we got back to Punta Buffeo, we took the kayak out and enjoyed some body surfing. We decided to spend another day at Gordon's rather than leave for the wine country near Ensenada.
Friday morning we awoke to an ocean of glass. You could have waterskiied on the Sea of Cortez, it was so perfect. I took the kayak out and did some fishing as you could see the fish jumping all over. I caught three more Calico Bass and threw them back to live another day. It was fun fishing out of the kayak for the first time. We also did some snorkeling around to rocks and just enjoying a wonderful relaxing day in Baja.
We got things packed up Friday night and a last bonfire on the beach roasting marshmallows with Gordon. Another beautiful night on the beach.
