Yosemite June 12th, 2010
In June, we visited Yosemite with our three little ones. Taking a family of three children ages 3 months to 3 years on a roadtrip can be challenging. I was hoping that the flows would still be high giving good run-off. We saw spectaular waterfalls all over the valley. We enjoyed the day out and the weather was perfect. Sunny and mid-70s. Here are a few pics of our adventure...

We stopped for lunch at Cathedral Beach as we hit the valley floor. We cooked up some food and the kids played on the shore by the river. The picnic area has an incredible view of El Capitan. Once again, I love having the ARB freezer/fridge to keep food cold without being soggy. No more ice!

El Capitan, a mecca for climbers.

After lunch, we headed to Yosemite Village and a hike to the Lower Yosemite Falls.

Here is a pic near the parking lot looking across a meadow. The falls were running at high flow and the weather was amazing. Below are Cara and Ella.

Next, it was my turn with the kids. Liam is in a stroller outside the picture.

A pic of Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls through the trees.

We arrived at the base of Lower Yosemite Falls. There is a great deal of spray from the falls and some that hiked closer on the rocks were soaked through.

A view of Halfdome across the valley.

Overall, it was a wonderful day. The kids behaved great and travelled well. I love California....

Some pics from March 2010.
